punk VS web2.0

As a new subculture, punk changed the world in 1970s. It affected the life of a generation. Almost everyone was crazy about punk. It is not only a new kind of music, but also a new culture, a new attitude to live, a new spirit.
Related to Web2.0, I find that punk has so much common qualities with web 2.0. As we all known, both of them have changed the world and people’s life. Nowadays, everyone uses web2.0 such as Facebook. They talk about it. They are crazy about it. They can’t life without it. Punk also makes people like that way. The other similarity is that both of them affect other filed. Punk’s main spirit is simple. It just needs three chords to play music. As time goes on, many art works, architectural filed and designing follow this spirit. The brand called MUJI is popular because its products in concise style. Web 2.0 also affects our life style. Web 2.0 focuses on information exchange in real time. Because of this platform for social communication, people can get closer to their friends by using Facebook and more convenient to search information from all over the world in this new way. They both are the revolution for the former culture.
All in all, every kind of new subject must change the culture and make people crazy about that. We need to handle it rationally.

  1. You describe the way that Web 2.0 affects our lifestyle well. And I like your reference to Muji--the fact that its distinct style has made it popular. Though this style and the products are also mass produced--something that most punks rejected in favor of individuality. But ultimately, I'm not sure how these two discussions fit together.
